Welcome to the website of the Task Force on Emission Inventories and Projections, under the Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution.

The website contains information about the Task Force, including conclusions and presentations from past meetings and links to related websites, including CEIP (the EMEP Center on Emission Inventories and Projections (hosted by the Austrian Environment Agency), the European Environment Agency (EEA) for the EMEP/CORINAIR Emission Inventory Guidebook, the website of the LRTAP Convention and the emission projection web site of the European Commission.

The Task Force on Emission Inventories and Projections develops the EMEP emission inventory, based on emission data from Parties, and provides a technical forum and expert network to harmonize emission factors, establish methodologies for the evaluation of emission data and projections and identify problems related to emission reporting. The Task Force will focus its work in the coming years on data quality and inventory review and has agreed to an annual three stage review process of submitted inventory data.

In 2007 TFEIP agreed to revised guidelines for reporting of emission data and projections under the Convention. TFEIP is responsible for developing and maintaining the EMEP/CORINAIR Emission Inventory Guidebook used for the estimation and reporting of national emissions. The EEA produces and publishes the official version of the EMEP/CORINAIR Emission Inventory Guidebook. The guidebook is currently undergoing a major update and restructuring and the revised version is expected to become available in september 2008. TFEIP also maintains the air pollution source-category nomenclatures NFR (Nomenclature for reporting) and SNAP (Selected Nomenclature for Air Pollution). TFEIP has established five expert panels on priority areas; two panels on the cross-cutting issues review and projections and three sector panels: combustion and industry, Transport and Agriculture and Nature.

The current Chair of the Task Force is Chris Dore, with Co-chairs Kristina Saarinen and Aphrodite Mourelatou.
