Expert
Panel on Combustion and Industry
Introduction
The
Combustion and Industry Expert Panel is responsible for the chapters on the
EMEP/EEA Emissions Inventory Guidebook, which deal mainly with combustion and
industrial activities. However, this Expert Panel is also responsible for the
chapters on waste and product use. The Panel can also provide guidance for the
technical issues related to the compilation of the relevant emission
inventories for these sectors and collaborates with the Review Expert Panel in
order to further improve emission inventories.

Report to the plenary session
(Jeroen/Carlo)
During
the meeting, a new list of members of the Expert Panel was started. This
members list will form the basis of further communication between the Expert
Panel leaders and members. If you would like to be added to the Expert Panel
member list, please contact one of the co-chairs (see details below).
Once
the new TFEIP webpage has been launched, the co-chairs will look into the
possibility to use the internet more actively in our communications and make
suggested methodologies for the Guidebook available via the Expert Panel
website where possible.

Expert Panel Members List
In
the meeting in Larnaca in May 2010, a new list of Expert Panel Members was
started. Currently this list consists only of the people that attended either
the EP meeting in Larnaca (10 May 2010) or the EP workshop on solvent use
emissions in Utrecht
(17 February 2010). We will use this list as the basis for our communications
about ongoing Expert Panel work and meetings. If you would like to have your
name added to the list of EP members, please contact Jeroen Kuenen (details see
below).
EMEP/EEA Guidebook
Maintaining
the Guidebook is the core responsibility of the Expert Panels. The revised EMEP/EEA Guidebook
was released by EEA in 2009. The Expert Panels are continuously working on
further improvements. The Expert Panel for Combustion & Industry is
responsible for the majority of the chapters from the Guidebook:
ˇ
NFR
1 (Energy), excluding NFR 1.A.3 (Transport)
ˇ
NFR
2 (Industrial processes)
ˇ
NFR
3 (Solvent and other product use)
ˇ
NFR
6 (Waste treatment and disposal)
In
case of any questions or issues regarding one of the above the above chapters,
please contact the co-chair responsible for the chapter, as indicated below.

Workshop Emission Inventories for Solvent Use (February
2010)
As
part of the TFEIP workplan regarding the Combustion & Industry sectors, one
of the key priorities for improving emission inventories in general and the
EMEP/EEA Guidebook in particular is the collaboration with industrial
stakeholders. For this purpose, the Expert Panel organized a workshop to
discuss emission inventories for NMVOC emissions from the use of solvents. This
workshop took place in Utrecht, The
Netherlands, on 17 February 2010. The meeting was attended by 30 experts, with
people from the inventory community as well as representatives from the industry
(European Solvents Industry Group). Please find below the meeting report, list
of participants and all the presentations (all are PDF files).
